Case Study: Olly’s Snacks

Rebrand Video Campaign

Candy-striped trapdoors, chocolate conveyor belts and magical marinade machines! We’d forgive you for thinking we’ve been working on the sequel to Charlie and The Chocolate Factory, and there certainly is something Wonka-esque about our latest client, Olly’s. They are the team behind those great tasting olive, pretzel and chocolate snacks that really feed your feel good, while keeping health front and centre. We teamed up to help Olly’s launch their rebranding campaign, with a high octane, colourful set of videos that deliver the Olly’s ethos of bringing health and happiness to the planet, and an unbeatable flavour experience. And we couldn’t be prouder of the results. Thanks to a fantastic team effort from all involved we really have set the bar for bonkers food imagery this time.

Reflecting on the process, the success of this campaign stems from a solid client relationship and a great brief. Now we love taking an idea and running with it, but if you really want us to produce a campaign that is going to captivate your audience, give us the gift of a mind-blowing brief and take the journey with us. We promise you won’t be disappointed.

Olly set the stage with a strong vision for their brand, this included a brief that covered every detail of how they want their snacks presented to the world. We’re not just talking about fonts and pantones here, but every other tiny thing that makes a brand sing, like the tone of their content, the style of imagery, dos and don'ts (we are not M&S!), the sound of their brand, technical specs like lighting and composition in their photography, colour and pattern to be used in the backgrounds, the look and feel of the props. All of these elements contributed to helping us to understand why we were working toward a certain look, and how we were going to do it.

Another important element that really worked on this campaign was the presence of Olly’s team on the shoot. At times, it took some agile thinking and quick U-turns but having the team with us really kept us on the right track and egged us on to experiment and indulge in some far out on the spot brainstorming. Having a team on location with us is not always possible for our clients and we have some nifty technology to allow them to work with us remotely, but there is no replacing the immediacy of face-to-face contact, at least for the first few days of a shoot.

Thanks to Olly’s team for coming on this crazy journey with us. A happy film set is always reflected in the content, and we think the results here speak for themselves.
